Why is my storage still full?

When you delete photos and videos using Clenzo (or any app on iPhone), iOS doesn't remove them immediately. Instead, deleted files are moved to the "Recently Deleted" album inside the Photos app, where they stay for up to 30 days before being permanently removed.

This means your storage won't be freed up right away — the files are still taking up space on your device.

⚠️

This is a standard iPhone behavior — it works the same way when you delete photos directly from the Photos app. It's designed as a safety net so you can recover accidentally deleted files. But if you're sure you want to free up space, you need to empty the Recently Deleted album manually.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I recover files after permanently deleting them?

No. Once you delete files from the Recently Deleted album, they cannot be recovered. Make sure you've reviewed the files before confirming deletion.

What happens if I don't empty Recently Deleted?

Files in the Recently Deleted album are automatically removed by iOS after 30 days. Your storage will eventually be freed — but if you want to reclaim space immediately, follow the steps above.

Why doesn't Clenzo delete files permanently?

Apple requires all apps to use the system photo deletion process, which moves photos to Recently Deleted first. This is an iOS security feature that no app can bypass — it's designed to protect you from accidental data loss.

Does this apply to contacts and emails too?

No. Contact merging and Gmail cleaning work differently. Only photos and videos go through the Recently Deleted process. Contacts are merged or removed instantly, and emails are moved to Gmail's Trash (which you can empty from within Gmail).

💡

Pro tip: After using Clenzo to clean up, make it a habit to empty the Recently Deleted album right away. This way you'll see the storage savings immediately!
